Dolly Parton gave us some of country music’s greatest songs, but one of her biggest legacies had nothing to do with music. For decades, Dolly helped put books into the hands of millions of children through her commitment to childhood literacy. Now, Q104 and KFKF want to help continue that legacy right here in Kansas City.
Join us for Reading 9 to 5: A Dolly Day Book Drive and help us collect books for local kids!
We’re accepting new or gently used books for children in preschool through 8th grade now through September 25th.
How to Donate
You can help in one of two ways:

- Shop our Amazon book wishlist, and your donation will be shipped directly to us.

Then, on September 25th — 9/25 — Dolly Day, Q104 and KFKF will donate all of the collected books to Lead to Read KC, helping get even more books into the hands of children throughout the Kansas City community.
Lead to Read KC is looking for book donations primarily for kids in preschool through 8th grade.
