Hi there! My name is Marissa and I like to consider myself an extrovert; a social butterfly to say the least! I was born in raised right here in Kansas City and simply love everything about this beautiful city. I enjoy watching all our Kansas City sports teams, a good cup of coffee, exploring all the new and classic staples here in KC and spending time with my family and friends. Being able to support and or represent any and all establishments in Kansas City and surrounding areas is very important to me as this city has shaped me into the person I am today. I hope you join me as I continue to grow in my career and share everything I love about the one thing we all have in common, which is loving all things Kansas City and this brand it comes with!

First concert you ever went to?
Jonas Brothers! I was obsessed with the Jonas Brothers and Justin Bieber growing up, and I remember being SO excited that I was going to be breathing the same air as Joe Jonas LOL. My mom was so sweet too, she surprised me with a limo ride and dinner before the show, it was the best night EVER for little Marissa!
Something listeners would be surprised to know about you?
2 things actually. I am fairly young and have already had 3 hip surgeries: 2 on my right hip and one on my left. I was a competitive dancer growing up, and my hips really just took a beating. Second thing is that I am deathly afraid of airplanes! I am so claustrophobic, and something about being stuck in the air with nowhere to get out makes me want to scream!
Favorite Royals Player?
Current favorite is Bobby Witt Jr., but my ALL-TIME favorite is Eric Hosmer! So happy to see him on my screen again on the broadcast team! Such a full circle moment.
Favorite Chiefs player?
Don’t get me wrong, how can you not like Patrick Mahomes, but something about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce being together just makes me so happy! I’m gonna have to go with Travis on this one. I also met him at a local coffee shop one morning and got a selfie – he was incredibly kind!
Favorite local charity?
SAFE. This charity is very near and dear to my heart, as my family has seen the work they do. My uncle was a firefighter who tragically passed away in the line of duty back in October of 2015. Seeing firsthand the work that SAFE does and provides for families during times of need was truly eye-opening. The work they do, and the team they have, are absolutely incredible.
How long have you lived in Kansas City?
Born and raised! I grew up in the Northland and went to grade school and high school there, too. When it was time for college, I really thought the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville was a great choice for me. Until I moved in… I came back home to Kansas City two weeks later and attended UMKC for the remainder of college and graduated from there in May of 2024.
What is your ideal weekend in KC?
I love trying new local spots! Whether it’s coffee shops, restaurants, or bars! An ideal day for me would be getting an iced coffee in the morning, followed by shopping on the Plaza, running home to check on my dogs (or in a perfect world, they would be with me 24/7, of course), dinner, and drinks! Dream day!
Any pets?
YES! My babies! I have 2 dachshunds. Turner is my 5-year-old boy, and Bella is our 7-month-old little girl! They are my pride and joy LOL! My husband and I love them so much, and he is such a great dog dad.
Favorite restaurant in KC?
Soooo many great ones, so I will give my top 3! Third place goes to Prima Facie Bistro in Parkville, such a fun vibe and great menu. Second place is The Rockhill Grille, a Kansas City staple, and it always tastes amazing. First place goes to Garozzos; you can never go wrong here!
